Jon Krakauer

Jon Krakauer was known as not only an author, but an outdoors man. He had a great passion for mountain climbing in particular. His love for the outdoors also went into his writing, which is shown in our upcoming book to read, Into the Wild. Jon was raised in Oregon and got a degree in Environmental Studies. Jon was not just famous for Into the Wild, almost all of his books were popular. Before he was an author, Jon began to write for Outside Magazine. This job was perfect for him, combining his love for writing and the outdoors. Jon is currently age 59 and people are still reading his old books today.

A new story - Ryan English Project

The next book we will be reading is Into the Wild by Jon Krakaur. From the summary I read, it seems to be an interesting book. In the beginning, man named Christopher was found dead in a bus in Alaska. The author then begins to retrace the steps that Chris made that lead to his death. He had legally changed his name and worked in a grain elevator before travelling to Alaska where he died. The author mentions other people who had simmilar stories and died from these unknown causes as well as the troubles in Christopher family.
